Customers want to know:
“Is the Ultimate Sewing Chair™ a good choice for a home office?”
The answer is a resounding “YES!” Although the Ultimate Sewing Chair™ features several adjustments with ranges specially designed for sewing posture, it also exceeds every OSHA requirement for the ideal ergonomic office chair. Many of our customers purchased a chair for their sewing room, and then made the decision to purchase a second, and sometimes even a third chair for their home office.
Here is a photo showing two of our chairs set up at this two-sided home office desk.
Here is the checklist you should use in choosing an ergonomic chair for your home office:
- Adjustable height:
Some of us have long legs… and others not so much. It is imperative for the seat height of the chair to be able to be adjusted as to accommodate for your own specific measurements. - Adjustable seat depth:
When you sit right back into the chair (with your lower back supported), there should be a 2-3 fingers gap between the edge of your seat and the back of your knee crease. (Ultimate Sewing Chair™ seat cushions come in three sizes to give your legs great support and comfort.) - Adjustable seat tilt:
The seat of the chair should be adjustable from flat to tilted slightly This will help promote the most neutral position of the pelvis, and take stress off of the lower back. - Adjustable Backrest:
Check to see that the backrest is adjustable both vertically and in the frontward and backward direction and has a firm lumbar support. - Your chair size chart: Check the chair measurements to get the best fit.
